Dell Wimax Mini 10

A Dell Mini 10 netbook has been spotted at the FCC sporting an Intel WiFi-link 6250 WiMAX card – does that mean integrated Wimax for the Mini 10 this year? So far, all I’ve seen are announcements and I don’t recall anything other than the Samsung NC10 which came with built-in WiMAX last year.

We’re curious to see what other netbooks will be shipping with Wimax options – we definately think it will be a growing trend.  Currently, WiMAX is optional on the MSI Wind U130, Lenovo ThinkPad X100e, IdeaPad S10-3t, Viliv Blade S10, ASUS Eee PC 1005PEG and the FIC SVE00.

Dell Alienware M11x Gaming Netbook

The Alienware M11x is a new netbook / thin and light notebook with an 11.6 inch display, an Intel CULV processor, and some seriously powerful graphics capabilities.

The laptop is a bit heavy for an ultraportable . netbook, weighing in at 4.5 pounds whereas most netbooks top out at 2-3lbs.  It can handle 720p and 1080p HD video playback, and it can handle 3D video games at 720p resolutions. It also has a backlit keyboard, which is rare on a budget ultraportable.

The laptop has two graphics processors. For day to day tasks such as web browsing, Intel’s integrated graphics will probably do the trick. But when you want to play games, you can hit Fn+F6 to fire up the NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M GPU without rebooting. It features 1GB of dedicated video memory, DirectX 10.1 support, and Blu-Ray acceleration, among other features.

The Alienware M11x is available for pre-order from Dell for $799 and up. Make sure to hit up Hardware Heaven for the complete review if you’re considering this laptop.

Samsung Go with At&t

Samsung Go with At&t

At&t has added a 3g capable netbook to it’s lineup of 3G portable devices.  , The Samsung Go netbook, according to Samsung, is “a compact and lightweight netbook with instant access to broadband speeds powered by the nation’s fastest 3G network and the Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition operating system.”

Our take?  The Samsung Go is a great little netbook, featuring industry standard netbook specs (Atom N270, 1gb RAM, etc) wrapped in attractive and robust packaging from Samsung.
